We work with established artists who have an exceptional way of combining aesthetic goals with intriguing design and cultural connection. Their creative ideas do not follow fleeting trends and will never be mass produced. The result of these collaborations are therefore timeless and exclusive.
Rugs that are designed for you. We offer a close collaboration from the design brief to the installation of the rug. Let yourself be inspired by a style, an interior or nature. Leave the technicalities over to us. A designer rug can be made to exact specifications to fit your needs.
Printed Rugs
The nuances of a printed rug are different from the hand crafted. As a textile either quality offers its own unique characteristics.

New technologies create new mediums for creatives to explore. A 3D printer is an obvious newcomer as are printed or dye injected textiles. Both mediums require some form of digital interface between artist and production. At dilana we take care to balance artistic intent alongside the digital process. The desirable outcome is to produce a decorative floor covering that by design is sympathetic to the printed process
Hand Knotted Rugs
Hand knotting is the oldest of all rug making mediums. The knotting techniques originally developed millenniums ago are still utilised by contemporary textile artists today.
In 2020 artists Sudi Dargipour, Gavin Chilcott and Reuben Paterson produced the first in a collection of contemporary hand knotted rugs for dilana. The resulting pieces are beautifully rendered, and born from the collaborative process between artist and artisan. These rugs reflect both the timeless quality of their medium and artistic sensibilities of the artists who design them.
