Reuben Paterson
Dilana's partnership with acclaimed New Zealand artist Reuben Paterson (b. 1973, Auckland, New Zealand: Ngāti Rangitihi, Ngāi Tūhoe, Tūhourangi, Scottish) first began in early 2017 with hand-tufted koru compositions brought to life in our Christchurch workshop. Our next collaboration progressed to hand knotted rugs that utilised wool and sparkling fibres in order to best capture Reuben's signature glitter, and translate it to the medium of rug making. This series has found enthusiastic owners in diverse locations – from Queenstown all the way to New York.
Our latest series begins with “The Stars Come Out Of The Water” and progresses even further in terms of technique.
Successfully balancing a challenging composition with a myriad of colors and shimmering silver fibers, this exquisite hand-tufted circular rug, with a diameter of 2.5 meters, is crafted from 100% New Zealand wool.
