Sarah Anderson
Sarah Anderson was born and raised in Ōtautahi/Christchurch and has a strong affiliation with the coastal region of the Rakaia River and the small coastal settlement known as Rakaia Huts. Her ‘hut’ has been in the family for nearly 100 years and holds a very special place in her heart. Many of her paintings reference this area, a place populated by stones of great and subtle beauty.
She likes to invent new ‘worlds of the mind’ with her work, but the jumping-off point for these flights of fancy are always bedded firmly in the natural world.
Sarah trained at The University of Canterbury achieving both a BFA in Sculpture and a Post Grad. Diploma in Art Curatorship.
