060
Andrew McLeod
As a painter, McLeod has a rare love for the Arts and Crafts Movement.
There are numerous techniques a painter can call on to create colour composition. When designing rug 060 Andew sidelined paint for felt pens, rendering a sketchlike feel to his abstract composition. As the ink overlaps, its movement forms a distinctive and spontaneous colour texture on the paper. Translating these textures to textiles adds another layer of complexity for the rugmaker and yarn dyers.
The completed 060 successfully retains the subtleties of the artist's colorful pen work. An ideal rug that will contribute to any interior scheme strong on natural materials.
